US Warplanes Drop Bombs on Iraqi Air Defense Sites
����Two US F-14 Tomcats and two F/A-18 Hornets patrolling southern no-fly zone in Iraq on Saturday dropped laser-guided bombs on two Iraqi surface-to-air missile sites after encountering Iraqi MiG-21 fighters, US officials said.
����The incident took place at 1:15 am EST (0615GMT). After the bombing, the US warplanes returned safely to the aircraft carrier Carl Vinson in the Arabian Sea, they said.
