Concert Donations Given to Flood Victims

Victims of China's destructive floods last year are to benefit from the 630 million yuan raised by a very successful concert staged late last summer.

The three-hour emotional performance entitled "We Are Of One Mind", was performed to raise money for the needy in flood-hit regions and was sponsored by the China Charity Federation, China Red Cross Society and China Central Television.

By the end of last August it had brought in cash donations and credits worth 630.3 million yuan from home and abroad.

The donations of money and goods have now been sent to the flood-hit regions and used to assist rescue work, provide daily necessities and finance reconstruction projects.
