Macao Residents Encouraged to Join Selection Committee 　　Macao residents are encouraged to apply for membership in a selection committee which will vote for the first chief executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR). 　　Applications can be made from January 26 to February 14, Tina Ting Yee Ho, deputy secretary-general of the Preparatory Committee for the Macao SAR, said at a press conference in Macao on January 21 . 　　Tina Ting Yee Ho showed reporters five application sheets with different colors, which indicate the different social sectors the applicants belong to. 　　The announcement was made in accordance with the procedure for forming the selection committee. The procedure was passed at the fourth plenary session of the Preparatory Committee last November. 　　The selection committee will comprise 200 permanent residents of Macao.
