More Than 6 Million Unemployed Chinese Get New Jobs
In 1998, a total of 6.09 million Chinese workers who had been laid off found new jobs, according to China's Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
This was attributed to the Chinese government's increased spending on training and guidance in job searches last year.
The Ministry says that it plans this year to increase employment in the service sector and to encourage local governments to create more community service jobs.
Another move will be to establish better job markets with companies looking for personnel and information centers to help laid-off workers with better services.
