Top Legislator Meets Canadian Guests ����Li Peng, chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, and his wife Zhu Lin met Andre Desmarais, president of the Power Corporation of Canada (PCC) and his party in Beijing January 21. ����Li said China and Canada have enjoyed sound developments in bilateral relations in recent years, and that Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien's visit to China last November enhanced that bilateral friendly cooperation. ����He described the Canada-China Business Council as a "bridge of economic and trade cooperation" between the two countries.
