Kosovo Crisis
*Russian Defense Minister Igor Sergeyev yesterday told reporters that only the wish to solve Kosovo crisis was far from enough, due to the tending complicating situation in the Balkan region.
Sergeyev called for avoiding dual standards in solving this problem and evaluating the stands and actions of the two sides involved in conflicts. Only on this basis, can further political measures be made to solve the Kosovo crisis, Sergeyev said, adding that Russia and the United States should work together in an effort to implement the related resolution on Kosovo issue without the use of force.
*Initial autopsies showed that 40 bodies found in the Kosovo village of Racak were those of armed ethnic Albanians who died in fighting last weekend, not civilians as claimed by OSCE chief inspector William Walker, a local judge told the Tanjug news agency Tuesday.
Danica Marinkovic, judge of the Pristina court in Kosovo, said Yugoslav forensic doctors from Pristina, Belgrade, Nis and Norisad conducted the autopsies on Tuesday in the presence of their Belarussian colleagues and OSCE verifiers.
She added that a group of Finnish forensic doctors would soon arrive in Pristina to join the work.
