Li Ruihuan on United Front Work
A top Chinese leader said in Beijing January 20 that the primary task of the united front work is to unite the majority of the people so as to bring their initiatives into full play.
Speaking at a national meeting on united front work, Li
Ruihuan, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese
People's Political Consultative Conference, said our cause
represents the interests of most of the people that need their
concerted efforts to accomplish.
The wishes, sentiments, opinions of the majority are the
starting point as well as the end result of all our efforts.
"Only when we bring together all the people that we can and
tap potentials of all positive factors can we fulfill the Party's
general tasks and goals," he said.
The criteria to judge the correctness of our policies and the
competence of our cadres lie on whether we can draw the majority
of people together.
Li urged united front departments at various levels to go to
the grassroots and acquire better understanding of the concerns of
the general public and to do a better job in the new year.
