Beijing Launches Greening Campaign ����Beijing Mayor Jia Qinglin announced today that 1999 has been designated "the greening year" for China's pollution-ridden capital. ����The mayor said that the city has already reached its 2000 year target for 40 percent of Beijing's public areas to be covered with grass and trees.
