Pakistani Ambassador Values Chinese Reform and Opening-up

In an article specially written for the People's Daily, Inamul Haque, Pakistan's ambassador to China, speaks highly of the great success achieved in China's reform and opening-up.

The ambassador says that the Chinese economy owes its marvelous achievement to the reform and opening-up policy. China's fastest growing economy has not yet been challenged and has shown true power in the financial crisis in Asia which has affected a number of countries.

In China, the markets are prosperous, and people are happy and healthy.

Mr. Haque says that the reform and opening-up has widened China's touch with the outside world. He is deeply impressed by the country's efforts in promoting regional and global peace and stability, and its wisdom in dealing with various international issues.

He states that the reform and opening-up can also be seen in the relations between Pakistan and China. The bilateral cooperation in the field of politics, economy, culture and international issues has been going smoothly and strengthening through years.

Economic cooperation between Pakistan and china is of great importance to both sides. The annual bilateral trade volume exceeds US$1 billion, and Pakistan's export to China reached US$338 million. There is still considerable potential to give full play for Pakistan and China to enlarge their trade, the ambassador says.
