National Document Resource Sharing Network Starting
At its first step toward establishing digital libraries, China is to set up a national document resource network at three levels--State, region and province, in which more than 100 libraries and information units across the country will take part, according to a national conference held in Beijing on January 14. The meeting was attended by representatives from 122 public libraries and those from institutions of higher education and information units.
The network is based upon the cooperation among the National Library of China and the libraries of Peking University and Tsinghua University.
