Over the past few days, initial achievements have been gained in the strong offensive launched nationwide against pornographic and illegal publications. This concentrated action, started in the autumn of 1994, represents an important move taken by the Chinese government to intensify the fight against porn and piratical publications, strengthen management of the publications market and improve the cultural environment.
