Chinese Petroleum, Chemical Industries Profitable in 1998
����China's petroleum and chemical industries had turned losses into 10.3 billion yuan in profits in 1998, according to an official of the State Economic and Trade Commission's Petroleum and Chemicals Administration.
����The China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) accounted for 4 billion yuan, China National Petrochemical Corp. (Sinopec) 3.42 billion yuan, chemical companies 2.15 billion yuan, and the China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) 700 million yuan of the total profits achieved.
