Tension Mounts in the Gulf Region

  * US jets fired on a missile site in Iraq's northern no-fly zone Monday after three US planes were being targeted by Iraqi radar, the Pentagon said.

  *Iraqi President Saddam Hussein called on the Iraqi people to prepare against any possible military attack by the United States and Britain after the holy month of Ramadan.

  *Iraq will neither believe nor accept the so-called suggestion of lifting the sanctions against Iraq, proposed by Saudi Arabia, Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Tariq Aziz said in a statement Monday.
