News in Brief ˇˇˇˇWei Jianxing, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, met on January 7 with a delegation from the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU), led by its secretary-general, Alexander Zharikov. Wei, also president of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, praised the WFTU as an important force in the international trade union movement.
