Japan's Justice Minister Retracts Complaints on Constitution
����Japan's Justice Minister Shozaburo Nakamura on Tuesday retracted his complaints about the constitution.
����In his speech to the staff of his ministry on Monday, the minister said, "We Japanese are writhing because they cannot revise a constitution imposed by the allied forces so that the country would not be allowed to wage war, defend itself or have an army."
����Nakamura, who has been a member of Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi's Cabinet since July, told the press on Tuesday that his remark did not mean that he wanted to revise the constitution.
����He said he just wanted to say that Japan's participation in international peacekeeping activities has been confined under the constitution.
����Prime Minister Obuchi has urged his cabinet members to be wary of their remarks.
