Hainan Promotes Help-the-Poor Program by Joint Efforts ����"Helping the poor by joint efforts" was a key project of Hainan Special Economic Zone to tackle the tough task of helping the poor last year. Since the latter half of last year, the province has put in a total of 232 million yuan to support the poor, sent 7.859 cadres to stay in rural areas, aided 32,933 farm households and planted 221,046 mu (15 mu = 1 hectare) of land to cash crops.
