BEIJING, March 12 --Universal Studios, a well-established U.S. motion picture studio, is planning to build a Hollywood movie theme park in Beijing's Tongzhou District, according to media reports.
The park, the third of its kind in Asia right after the Singapore and Japan locations, is expected to break ground in the fourth quarter of 2014.
It will cover a land area of 206,400 square meters, with an investment of 12 billion yuan (US$1.95 billion).
It's expected to open to the public in January of 2018.
