LHASA, Feb. 18 -- The foreign trade volume of China's Tibet Autonomous Region reached 3.319 billion U.S. dollars in 2013, said local customs on Tuesday.

Nepal, Malaysia and U.S. ranked the first three trading partners of Tibet last year, at 1.942 billion, 196 million and 176 million U.S. dollars respectively, according to Lhasa Customs.

Nepal was Tibet's largest trade partner for the eighth consecutive year.

The export commodities were various kinds of clothing, footwear and daily necessities, as well as apples, ginger, rosin and other agricultural products. Import commodities consisted mainly of metal statues, carpets, and knitting machines.

Tibet borders Nepal, Myanmar, India and other countries and has an improving road network.
