BEIJING, Dec. 25 -- Construction of the 2014 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) venue will be completed by the end of June 2014, according to Huairou District People's Government, Beijing Morning Post reported.
Huairou will work with its partner Beijing Enterprises Group to ensure the smooth operation of the International Convention Center, the boutique hotel and all conference facilities, the district government said in its annual work report.
The venue is being built on the main island of Yanqi Lake, a picturesque scenic spot about 50 kilometers northeast of downtown Beijing in Huairou District.
The venue's construction incorporates low carbon use, green ecology and environmental protection.
