The Network Security Assessment Center operated by Huawei in the United Kingdom is safe and effective, maintaining sufficient independence from its headquarters in China, according to a report released by the U.K. Cabinet Office.
The report shows that Shenzhen-based Huawei, the leading global information and communication technology solution provider, has achieved its defined goals and can be regarded as a model of government-business cooperation.
It is understood that some British media had questioned Huawei's business practices, and some members of Parliament had also raised objections. They even linked Huawei's operations with "espionage" and asked the government to investigate the company.
In June, the Intelligence and Security Committee of Parliament released a report which formally requested the government to conduct close scrutiny over telecommunications products belonging to foreign companies, in order to effectively rule out network security threats.
Beginning in July the British government began a detailed investigation of the Huawei, and its report was recently released.
