SINGAPORE, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- UnionPay International, the international business unit of China UnionPay, on Monday adopted an animal show and an exhibit at the Singapore Zoo and its sister park River Safari, respectively.
Speaking at a ceremony on Monday, Shi Wenchao, president of China UnionPay, said that Singapore is a key market for UnionPay International and that the payment solutions provider have been targeting not only visitors from China who hold UnionPay cards but also local residents.
"The parks under Wildlife Reserves Singapore -- River Safari and Singapore Zoo -- are popular with tourists and local residents alike," he said.
The Animal Friends Show at the Singapore Zoo features domestic animals that show off their abilities and important role in our lives. Many of the animals in the show, such as dogs, cats and mice, were once abandoned pets but are now inspiring people to love and care for all animals with the laughters and fun they bring to visitors.
The Squirrle Monkey Forest exhibit, which is part of the Amazon River zone at the River Safari, houses the squirrel monkey, a representative of the abundant monkey species of the Amazon rainforest.
Lee Meng Tat, chief executive officer of Wildlife Reserves Singapore, said that the zoo and park operator is pleased to work with UnionPay International to "bring to the public joys of appreciating the wildlife that share our planet and opportunities to learn more about the unique wildlife habitats that contribute to global diversity."
Wildlife Reserves Singapore is the operator of zoos and theme parks such as the Jurong Bird Park, the Night Safari, the Singapore Zoo and the River Safari.
