BEIJING, Aug.30 (Xinhuanet) -- Algeria's Foreign Ministry has confirmed that Muammar Gaddafi's wife and three of their children entered Algeria on Monday morning. They included Gaddafi's sons Hannibal and Mohammed, and daughter Aisha. It's said their arrival has been reported to the UN and the Libyan rebel authorities.
In response, a spokesman for Libya's National Transitional Council says it has considered Algeria's sheltering of the Gaddafi family an act of aggression and will seek their extradition. Gaddafi's whereabouts remain unknown after Tripoli fell to opposition forces. The rebels have offered a 1.3 million dollar bounty and amnesty from prosecution for anyone who kills or captures him. The US government says it has seen no indication that Gaddafi has left Libya.
