Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence

The Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence are: mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, mutual non-aggression, non- interference in each other’s internal affairs, equality and mutual benefit, and peaceful coexistence. Fifty years has passed since they were established, and history has proved that the Five Principles are norms for handling state-to-state relations. On the basis of these principles, China has strived to developed relations of friendship and cooperation with all other countries.
