BEIJING, July 31 (Xinhua) -- The publicity chief of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Wednesday called on media in China and the Republic of Korea (ROK) to further boost pragmatic cooperation.
Liu Qibao, head of the CPC Central Committee's Publicity Department, made the remarks while meeting with an ROK delegation led by Kim Han-Kyu, chairman of the 21st Century Korea-China Exchange Association.
The ROK delegation attended the Fifth High-level Dialogue of China-ROK Media on Tuesday in Beijing.
Liu extended his congratulations on the success of the dialogue, saying that media exchanges and cooperation are an important part of China-ROK cooperation.
He called on the media of the two countries to keep to the main direction of the development of bilateral relations and further enhance pragmatic cooperation, so as to ensure that people of the two countries receive comprehensive, precise and objective information from each other in a timely manner.
In a bid to make new contributions to the promotion of bilateral understanding and friendship, Kim said ROK media will further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Chinese media.
