Clashes between Chinese fishermen and South Korean Coast Guard in recent years

In recent years, conflicts often occur between China and South Korea in the disputable exclusive economic zone in order to scramble for fishery resources. The following list shows all the fishing conflicts that occurred between China and South Korea.

On July 8, 2004, a Chinese fishing boat sank after hit by a South Korean cargo ship. One Chinese died in this accident.

On April 7, 2008, a Chinese fishing boat sank after hit by a South Korean cargo ship. Six disappeared in this accident.

On September 1, 2010, a Chinese fishing boat sank after hit by a South Korean merchant ship. Eight disappeared in this accident.

On December 18, 2010, a patrol ship of South Korean Coast Guard collided with a Chinese fishing ship, leaving one dead and one injured.

On December 28, 2010, a Chinese fishing boat sank after hit by a South Korean merchant ship. One disappeared in this accident.

On December 12, 2011, a South Korean Coast Guard officer got hurt by the swinging glass fragments and died when arresting Chinese fishing boat.

On October 16, 2012, a Chinese fisherman was shot dead with a rubber bullet by a South Korean Coast Guard officer during a raid.
