Chinese consumers have expressed their outrage at Japan’s illegal “nationalization” of China’s Diaoyu Islands through voluntary actions.

The spontaneous economic war launched by angry Chinese people against Japan mainly focuses on two aspects: temporarily stop buying Japanese cars and cancel trips to Japan.

Statistics showed that Japanese auto exports to China shrank 70 percent in the third quarter. September sales of Mazda and Mitsubishi cars in China dropped 35 percent and 63 percent respectively. In August, Toyota’s new vehicle deliveries in China slipped 50 percent, and sales of Suzuki cars in the country declined nearly 43 percent from last year. Overall, Japanese automakers are suffering a disastrous setback in China.

Yes I think if China"s supporters at home and abroad refuse to buy any more Japanese products until the Jap bosses withdraw their claims on Chinese territory and apologize then these Jap cap bosses will soon do that. It"s money they value more than anything else which is why they are trying to get the oil leasing rights of the Diaoyu Islands.

Over this issue of Diaoyu Island dispute, political parties are clearly standing for party interest rather than Japanese interest. Besides, the issue highlights once again that Japan cannot become a normal country because its political party are just like subsidiaries of the US ruling party. If the US has to return to Asia Pacific, no one would have noticed such return if the US cannot show off its military muscle. Who is going to foot the shows military drills), if East Asia countries are living harmoniously together? The Diaoyu Island is demonstrating the tragedy of the Japanese people. Democracy is the rule of people, rule by the people and rule for the people. Who are the people? Apparently, the American people for the Japanese are just loser. How Japan can become a normal country does not mean that Japan has to re-militarize. Japan ought to integrate with its East Asia neighbours and play a constructive and leadership role for the peace and prosperity of the region like Germany and France are doing to support the EU.
