New proof of China's sovereignty over Diaoyu Islands

(People's Daily Online)

16:59, October 10, 2012

In response to the farce of Japan to "Purchase" Diaoyu Islands, the Chinese government published the white book "Diaoyu Islands are China's Inherent Territory" on Sept. 25 and fully explained China's indisputable sovereignty over Diaoyu Islands from the perspective of history, geography, and jurisprudence.

The ancient map provides irrefutable evidence

Tan Zhaozhang, a well-known collector from Hong Kong, who has more than 200,000 pieces of ancient maps in his collection, recently took out a piece of treasured historical "hard evidence" and went to Guangzhou, Beijing and other cities to conduct special show. "The ancient map provides irrefutable evidence supporting that Diaoyu Islands has belonged to China since ancient times," Tan said. He said that as evidenced by the geographic name on the ancient map, China discovered and designated a name to the Islands earlier than Japan.

The "Notepad Beads" adds new proof

An opening ceremony was held in Beijing Poly Art Museum for the "Large Exhibition of Hard Evidences and National Treasures concerning the Sovereignty over Diaoyu Islands" on Sept. 24. On the exhibition which lasted 15 days, a book called "Notepad Beads" added new proof that Diaoyu Islands has always been a part of China. Peng Ling, a collector from Pingyao county, Shanxi province came across and purchased a hand-written copy of the "Notepad Beads" from the "ghost market" in Chaotian Palace in Nanjing city.

Porcelain plate of the Mikado does not include Diaoyu Islands

Huang Wei, an antique collector from Taipei recently presented a century-old family heirloom in an interview-- a porcelain plate fabricated in 1830 to mark the enthronement of Emperor Ninko of Japan according to a report of TVBS Taiwan. The map on the plate also provides historical proof concerning the dispute over the sovereignty over Diaoyu Islands.
