MOSCOW, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- China and Russia should further development of their friendly relations to benefit the two peoples and the world, visiting Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo said here on Tuesday.

During his talks with representatives of leading Russian think-tank, institutes and media organizations, Dai said the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination was an important treasure, which was of great significance for both countries, peoples and the world at large.

Under the new international situation, China and Russia should strengthen their coordination and communication, deepen their mutual trust, elevate their tangible cooperation to a new level, and encourage people-to-people and cultural exchanges to further develop the China-Russia friendship, Dai said.

He also called on the two countries to strengthen their coordination on international affairs to effectively safeguard world peace and promote common development.
