YEREVAN, Armenia, July 17 (Xinhua) -- The potential for cooperation between Armenia and China was huge, a senior Armenian parliamentarian said here Tuesday.
The potential existed in political, economic, educational, scientific, and other fields, said Artak Zakaryan, head of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the Armenian National Assembly, when meeting Chinese Ambassador Tian Changchun.
Zakaryan said the potential for cooperation between the two countries' legislative bodies had not been fully tapped, and the Armenian parliament was ready to further develop inter-parliament ties, according to the National Assembly's press office.
Tian said China-Armenia relations reached a high level after the independence of Armenia and 20 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which were enhanced through active contacts between the leaders of the two countries and vigorous cooperation in various fields.
China and Armenia established diplomatic relations in 1992.
