Senior CPC official meets Thai Democratic Party delegation

BEIJING, March 15 (Xinhua) -- A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) met on Thursday with a delegation of the Thai Democratic Party to discuss party-to-party ties.

Wang Gang, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, pledged to further relations between the parties during a meeting with the delegation, which was headed by former prime minister Chuan Leekpai and former deputy prime minister Suthep Thuagsuban.

Wang hailed the traditional friendship between the two countries, highlighting expanding political trust, multi-level exchanges and cooperation in various fields including on regional and international affairs.

Wang, who is also vice chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, said the CPC attaches importance to its relations with Thai political parties, including the Democratic Party, and will boost exchanges with them under set principles.
