BEIJING, March 12 (Xinhua) -- Liu Yunshan, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC), on Monday vowed to exchange experience with Cuba in leading the youth for national development.

Liu, head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the pledge while meeting with Liudmila Alamo, the first secretary of the Cuban Communist Youth Union.

Liu hailed the current Chinese-Cuban ties, saying the Chinese party and government attaches importance to and encourage the exchange between the youth of the two states.

He urged the two countries' youth organizations to expand their perspectives and cooperation so as to bolster the state-to-state relations.

Alamo said the Cuban Communist Youth Union will learn from China's experience in leading the youth for national development.

The Cuban Communist Youth Union delegation is in China as guest of its Chinese counterpart, the Communist Youth League of China.
