Chinese, Singaporean foreign ministers hold talks

BEIJING, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi held talks with visiting Singaporean Minister for Foreign Affairs and Law K. Shanmugam here on Friday.

The two foreign ministers "appraised positively the development of bilateral ties," according to a press release from the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

"They pledged to further implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two nations to maintain the momentum of high-level interactions, boost mutual trust, deepen their cooperation in economy and trade, finance, culture and other areas for more progress in advancing China-Singapore relations," said the release.

The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern, it added.
