Pakistani Army Chief embarks on 5-day China visit

ISLAMABAD, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani Army Chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani left for Beijing on Wednesday on a five-day official visit at the invitation of Chinese authorities, an army statement said.

During the visit the army chief will call on China's political and military leadership, a statement from the Army's Inter- Services Public Relations said.

The interaction will encompass the complete range of Pakistan- China relations, related to security and defence.

The army chief was seen off at Chaklala military airbase by senior military officers, the statement said.
