BEIJING, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- Top Chinese leaders met here on Wednesday with Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski and pledged to further cooperation in various fields.

Wu Bangguo, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature, said China attaches importance to its relations with Poland during a meeting with Komorowski.

China will work with Poland to deepen political mutual trust, support each other's core interests, respect each other's development modes based on their own domestic situations, and further cooperation in the fields of trade, the economy, science and technology and humanitarian efforts, Wu said.

He called on the two parliaments, which have conducted active exchanges of experience, to further cooperate so as to contribute to bilateral ties.

Komorowski hailed Poland's traditional friendship with China, urging the two countries to grasp opportunities and further mutually beneficial cooperation, as they are both experiencing important development periods.

After his talks with Wu, Komorowski held a meeting with Premier Wen Jiabao in downtown Beijing.

During their meeting, both sides vowed to further bilateral cooperation in fields such as infrastructure construction and the economy.
