Top Chinese military official in Sri Lanka

COLOMBO, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- A high level Chinese military official is in Sri Lanka for talks with the Sri Lankan president and military officials in the country, the Sri Lankan army said.

General Ma Xiaotian, Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army met with Commander of the Sri Lankan army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya on Tuesday.

The Sri Lankan army said that both sides exchanged views on a wide range of matters of interest, covering core training module that could be shared with the Sri Lankan army.
