CHANGZHOU, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- Senior officials with the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) discussed improving the parties' work with the masses on Monday in the eastern Chinese city of Changzhou, Jiangsu province.

The officials were here to attend the seventh CPC-CPV Theoretical Seminar, which was themed, "experiences on relating to the masses under new circumstances."

Liu Yunshan, a member of the Political Bureau and secretariat of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, said the two ruling parties face the common tasks of strengthening and improving their work with the masses.

Liu said the CPC should focus on solving problems most concerning and relevant to the people, and draw wisdom and strength from the people in order to smoothly advance the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

Dinh The Huynh, a member of the Political Bureau and secretariat of the CPV Central Committee, said the exchanges of views on respective experiences will be conducive to solidifying the ruling basis of the parties as well as bilateral ties.

Huynh spoke highly of China's work with the masses since the CPC was established 90 years ago.

The two sides also vowed to enhance cultural and media cooperation, and make efforts to bring bilateral ties to a new high.

Huynh will conclude his six-day visit to China on Dec. 2.
