According to the General Administration of Customs of China, more pilot ports will be opened for the China-Europe Secure and Intelligent Trade Route Pilot Project.

The China-Europe Secure and Intelligent Trade Route Pilot Project is the first international customs cooperation project in the world that has fully implemented the Framework of Standards to Secure and Facilitate Global Trade. The project is aimed at promoting the security and convenience of the supply chain of the China-Europe seaborne trade route.

In November of 2007, the project launched the first stage of its pilot project in the sea routes among the Port of Shenzhen in China, the Port of Felixstowe in the United Kingdom and Port of Rotterdam in Holland.

According to the agreement reached by joint customs commissions of China and Europe, the project will add in more pilot ports in its second pilot stage, including the Port of Shanghai and Port of Chongqing in China, Port of Le Havre in France, Port of Geneva in Italy, Port of Hamburg in Germany, and Port of Antwerp as well as Port of Zeebrugge in Belgium.
