Chinese, Russian prime ministers start talks

BEIJING, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and visiting Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin started talks Tuesday afternoon at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

The talks are also officially called the 16th regular meetings of heads of government of China and Russia.

Before the talks, Wen hosted a red-carpet welcome ceremony for Putin, who is in China for a two-day official visit.
