Senior CPC official meets Lao president

BEIJING, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met with Lao President Choummaly Saynasone on Sunday.

Wang said China attaches great importance to Choummaly's official good-will visit, in the context of his reelection as general secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.

"I believe the visit will have positive outcome and promote the relations between the two parties and two countries," said Wang.

Choummaly, also chairman of the Central Committee of Defense and Security of Laos, voiced his appreciation for China's warm invitation and good arrangements.

He affirmed that Laos will enhance the cooperation between the two parties and two countries, and consolidate the comprehensive strategic partnership of the two countries.
