1 dead in NE China construction site accident

CHANGCHUN, June 14 (Xinhua) -- One worker was killed and another was injured in an accident that occurred Thursday night at a subway construction site in Changchun, capital of northeast China's Jilin Province, local authorities said Friday.

A steel structure collapsed around 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Weixing Square station of the city's Line 1 subway, injuring two workers, a municipal government official said.

One of the workers died while en route to the hospital. The other worker is receiving treatment.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
