NANCHANG, April 15 (Xinhua) -- Nearly 700 firefighters have been dispatched to put out a forest fire in east China's Jiangxi Province, local authorities said Monday.
The fire broke out around 3 p.m. in the mountains of Dexing City, and is continuing to burn, sources with the provincial forest fire prevention command bureau said.
A preliminary investigation found that the fire started when someone burned wild grass to clear the land for a new round of planting.
No casualties have been reported.
