When winter comes, the tunnel seepage of the railway can form icicles or ice wall. If not cleaned properly, the icicles may damage the pantograph of trains; the thick ice wall may even cause subversion accident.

Ice cleansers have the mission to clean up the ice in the tunnels of railways and ensure the smooth running of the trains. The icy tunnels are often in the remote mountain area where the ice cleansers have overcome the poor working and living conditions to stick on their posts.
