BEIJING, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party (CPWDP) will elect its new party leadership at its 15th national congress, scheduled for Dec. 6 to Dec. 10.
The CPWDP held the seventh plenary session of its 14th Central Committee on Wednesday. Sang Guowei, chairman of the CPWDP Central Committee, called on party members to carefully learn the spirit of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
The upcoming CPWDP congress should consolidate and develop the party's unity and cooperation with the CPC, Sang said.
Wednesday's meeting finalized the draft version of the report of the party's 14th Central Committee, a draft amendment to the CPWDP Constitution and a draft of the agenda for the 15th congress, according to a statement issued after the meeting.
The meeting participants also elected Sang to deliver the Central Committee's report, according to the statement.
Over 200 people, including the party's vice chairpersons, Central Committee members and non-voting participants, attended Wednesday's meeting.
Founded in August 1930 in Shanghai, the CPWDP now has more than 102,000 members, mainly leading intellectuals in the fields of medicine and healthcare.
