During the rush hour, a No. 499 bus is packed with passengers.

Edited and translated by Liang Jun

According to a survey, Beijingers spend longest time in commuting at the most congested road in China. With traffic jams and increasing driving cost, many people prefer public transport to driving.

There are many reasons causing the traffic jams, but the surge in vehicle number in recent years is probably one of the main factors. Some people also think drivers' ignorance of the traffic regulation is the key reason.

Many commuters have no choice but to adapt to the congestion in Beijing, which have become a part of their daily life.
