Mercedes-Benz China will recall 127 units of G500 and G55 AMG models sold in the Chinese mainland starting Sept. 29, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) said in a statement.

The vehicles to be recalled were manufactured between Sept. 30, 2010 and April 27, 2011.

Due to possible welding defects, the bands that fix the frontal airbags to their cover board may fall off when the airbags unfold, posing potential safety hazards to passengers.
