Baidu's Professional Ethics Committee has recently sent an e-mail, saying that the employees of Baidu's Community Search Department, Department of Public Affairs and Marketing Department of Knowledge Searching Products have been detained by the police for colluding with outsiders to make money by deleting posts.

Baidu has responded to the Nanfang Daily that they have been cracking down on the behaviors of making money by deleting posts and they had dealt with the illegal employees in accordance with the relevant discipline of the employee handbook of the company. The news of Baidu's severely cracking down on paid deletion of posts uncovered the secret of the hidden industry.

Demands to erase posts can be received every day

"As a piece of negative news about a brand has recently appeared on our website, we received numerous telephones and emails requiring deleting the news," said Lei Xiaoliang (pseudonym), a portal website editor, who has become accustomed to the "harassments" from different public relations firms every day.

"I have received many deletion demands from the public relations firms today. I receive the similar demand every day and I have got used to it." In the short period of time when Lei talked with the reporter, he had received several short messages from the public relations firms.
