GUANGZHOU, July 25 (Xinhua) -- Police in south China's Guangdong province confiscated over 1.2 million bogus Viagra pills and a large amount of other counterfeit drugs in a campaign that started Tuesday.

The crackdown, which is targeting fake foods and drugs in Guangzhou, the provincial capital, has seen police break up 29 criminal dens and arrest 34 suspects, according to the city's public security bureau.

Among the seizures were 1.2 million counterfeit Viagra pills with an estimated market value of 120 million yuan (18.8 million U.S. dollars), 5,000 bottles of fake lubricant and 5.45 million other counterfeit pills.

Police are still testing the ingredients of the seized drugs.

Police also seized six tonnes of industrial-use salts packaged as table salt during the campaign. Police said the salts contained excessive amounts of heavy metals.
