Ford Motor Company is recalling 8,266 of its 2013 Escape compact SUVs because of a potential problem affecting the brake pedal, according to news from auto market websites.
The new SUVs made by Ford Motor Company are recalled after appearing on the market for only several months, which certainly will prompt criticism from the public.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the position of the carpet padding on the center console trim panel may be pushed outward, reducing clearance with the pedals. That reduced clearance may mean the driver's foot could brush the side of the brake pedal when going from the accelerator to the brake, thus increasing stopping distances and the risk of a crash.
In addition, some potential problems existing in the side trim panel of the center console also will be solved after recall.
