Prostitution crackdown

Beijing police raided 180 hair salons and foot massage parlors used as prostitution fronts, detaining 660 suspects since they launched the latest anti-prostitution drive on June 26, the Beijing Evening News reported Thursday.

Double the number of prostitutes were arrested, and the number of establishments raided has increased almost five times compared with statistics from the same period last year, police said.
