16 miners trapped in colliery flood in China's Hunan

Rescuers enter the shaft by a tramcar at a coal mine in Sandu Township of Leiyang, central China's Hunan Province, July 5, 2012. Sixteen coal miner were trapped in the pit following a colliery flood in Leiyang late Wednesday afternoon, local authorities said Thursday. As of 11 a.m., none of the workers had been pulled out of the pit, an official with the work safety bureau in Leiyang city told Xinhua. Rescue work was continuing. (Xinhua/Bai Yu)
